Welcome to the Office of Student Support Services
The Office of Student Support Services provides the supports necessary for all children to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. Our programming focuses on supports for Students Health and Wellness, the Response to Intervention and Instruction (RtII) process, School Counseling, supports for Social Emotional Learning, Section 504 Accommodation Plans, as well as supports for Students with Disabilities.
Fall 21-22 Professional Development for Special Education Teachers with Allan Blume
We are happy to announce another opportunity for our teachers to work with Allan Blume! The OSSS has been partnering with Allan Blume to provide professional learning for ETFs, Related Service Providers and teachers. Mr. Blume is an expert on creating effective IEP goals and monitoring performance. He was also a resource for effective service delivery during remote learning. We have heard from Special Education Teachers that they continue to be very interested in working directly with Mr. Blume.
LPS has developed a cohort for each level - Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle and High School. Each cohort is limited to 30 participants.
EACH COHORT will meet on THURSDAYS from 3:00 – 5:00 PM. Teachers will receive 10 PDPs and a stipend of $320 for attending all four sessions.
The EARLY CHILDHOOD Special Education Teachers (PK-GR 2) cohort will be offered on SEPT 16, OCT 14, NOV 18, JAN 6. Interested Special Education Teachers should visit their Vector PD Dashboard and choose “Available Events” to find Allan Blume Special Education Teacher Learning Network - Early Childhood.
The ELEMENTARY Special Education Teachers (GR 3-5) cohort will be offered on SEPT 23, OCT 21, NOV 18, JAN 13. Interested Special Education Teachers should visit their Vector PD Dashboard and choose “Available Events” to find Allan Blume Special Education Teacher Learning Network: Elementary.
The MIDDLE SCHOOL Special Education Teachers (GR 6-GR 8) cohort will be offered on SEPT 30, OCT 28, DEC 9, JAN 20. Interested Special Education Teachers should visit their Vector PD Dashboard and choose “Available Events” to find Allan Blume Special Education Teacher Learning Network: Middle School.
The HIGH SCHOOL Special Education Teachers (GR 9-PG) cohort will be offered on OCT 7, NOV 4, DEC 16, JAN 27. Interested Special Education Teachers should visit their Vector PD Dashboard and choose “Available Events” to find Allan Blume Special Education Teacher Learning Network: High School.
After selecting the appropriate course, please open the link and choose “ENROLL ALL” to register. A timesheet will be submitted at the conclusion of the course. The ZOOM link for the course is published in TeachPoint.
