Lawrence students and art teachers give back to the community

December 6th, 2018 @ 5-7pm

Everett Mills, 15 Union St - 1st floor, entrance B

$5 Admission

Animal paintings, pottery painted chairs and greeting cards auctioned and available for sale - musical performances by LHS students

Light refreshments provided by local businesses


Proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity and Debbie's Treasure Chest in support of the gas disaster relief efforts. Ticket proceeds fund Lawrence High School art scholarships. Lawrence Cultural Council is sponsoring the event.

Scholastic Art and Writing Award winners were announced recently and Lawrence once again is well represented for the Massachusetts results.

Congratulations go to Parthum 8th Grader Jenaliz Javier as the one Gold Key winner. Also to, An Vong and Daniella Cameron Santos from Abbott Lawrence Academy who were Silver Key winners and the nine Honorable Mentions all from Lawrence High School were: Stephanie Lima, Domenica Alcivar, (2)Milea Alicea, Daniella Cameron Santos,  Ashley Javier,  (2)Mimi Ton, and Savannah Ortiz.

You can see their artwork and the work of talented students from around the District soon at the District Art and Portrait Show Exhibit that will open on April 4th at Lawrence Heritage State Park. Mark your calendars and enjoy the opening from 4- 5:30pm.

Student artists from around the District brought family and friends to the Opening Reception of the annual District Art Show. Artwork ranging from painting to sculpture and everything in between will be on display through the end of April. Show is being held at the Lawrence Heritage State Park 1 Jackson St, 3rd Floor Lawrence, MA. Click here for some Opening Night photos.

Congratulations to the seven graduating Seniors from the LPS Dance Department! Their talents and efforts over the years to create memorable dance shows were recognized in a special ceremony. Several plan to continue with dancing as they head off to college. Thank you for the great performances and best wishes!
