The 2019 selection reveals the largest class of new Advanced and Master Educators awarded since the program began in 2014.  In 2019-20, 32 new Advanced and 2 new Master Educators will join the legacy cohort of 101 members.  An Advanced or Master Educator serves as a resource to support their fellow educators, with the goal of improving teaching practice and student outcomes in the school.  Advanced and Master Educators are not only experts in their craft, but are also recognized as possessing leadership skills to effectively guide their peers.  Congratulations to all our Advanced and Master Educators!

Special Olympics had their annual School Day Games at Veterans Memorial Stadium with a special recognition this year. Mr. Phil Glendye, who has been part of the Special Education program and has coached many special olympics teams in his more than 25 years, was honored for his dedication. He received a medal and plaque and was surprised with a banner from some of his former students saying "We love you, Mr. G". Thank you, Mr. Glendye, for all you have done for the children of Lawrence.

Congratulations to the 38 graduating Lawrence High School Seniors who have earned the State Seal of Biliteracy. This is the first year for this recognition to students who achieve fluency and competence in both English and another language. Their diploma will have the special Seal so that colleges and employers will know that they are prepared bilingually for coursework and careers.
