PreK's "I Choose Kindness" hearts

In January, the Breen School began integrating kindness into our everyday school community. All staff has implemented ways of showing students what it is to be kind and how to show kindness. We celebrated the Random Acts of Kindness week in February and now we have ended March with a celebratory Acts of Kindness March around the school. On Thursday, March 28,  Prekindergarten and Kindergarten students all proudly participated by making a craft to show how they are kind and how their classroom shows kindness.

Breen students petting goats

The Breen recently celebrated their Harvest Fest. There were many activities including science stations for students to make observations of plants and also animals from the petting zoo. It was a great way to nurture our student’s curiosity. And of course everyone enjoyed apple cider & donuts!

3 Breen students smiling with their new book bags

This morning students, parents, and teacher got a chance to hang out at the park together and eat some popsicles while talking about the school year up ahead. Students got to do some activities and even got bookbags! This was a great way to welcome the new school year!

Students at SLE During Urban Voices Concert

On Friday, January 26th, Breen Kindergarteners gathered at South Lawrence East for a celebration of music! The students worked hard all year to learn songs, work together, and memorize dance moves. They had the chance to show off their hard work and talent at the first ever Urban Voices Concert. Parents, Grandparents, Friends and loved ones gathered from all over Lawrence to support the Breen students and join them in this joyous celebration of music.
