Dear Lawrence Public Schools families,

I want to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving to celebrate family, friends, and time spent together. Among the things I remain most thankful for in 2019 is the opportunity to serve the Lawrence Public Schools community every day, and you will all be in my thoughts.

Thanksgiving is also when everyone’s focus truly turns to the change of seasons and upcoming holidays, when hats, coats, gloves and mittens are reluctantly pulled from storage and students begin to daydream about the first full school vacation awaiting next month. So let me also offer a reminder that this year’s holiday break is slightly extended. School gets out Friday, December 20th and resumes Monday, January 6th. All of us at LPS hope you are able to enjoy a restful, rewarding two weeks with loved ones, and we will be ready and excited to welcome students back for a successful 2020.

Again, we hope you have the happiest of Thanksgivings, and thank you for everything you do to support LPS and your child’s education.

Warm wishes,
Cynthia Paris
