On November 16, 2013, BMF students traveled to the Manhattan wholesale district to try their hand at buying wholesale, negotiating with vendors, and understanding market needs. The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship in partnership with BMF took 79 students to New York City as part of the NFTE entrepreneurship course. Equipped with business concepts learned throughout the semester and a loan of $25, students shopped around the wholesale district where they negotiated with vendors to buy their bulk items at a discounted price. The students will now sell their items to learn good record keeping skills and sales techniques and of course, to earn a profit.
