Performing Arts Center

Welcome to the New Lawrence High School for the Performing and Fine Arts' new Performing Arts Center. The facility proudly showcases our students' performance and visual arts. In addition, community groups and local performing arts may rent the facility for their own performances.

About the Theatre

This theatre has more than 1,300 seats with handicap accessibility on all 3 floors of the seating areas, including the balcony. The new seats are smart and comfortable as you sit and gaze at our complete theatrical stage and full sized orchestra pit. The sound in the theater is crisp and clear from the stage; the acoustics are pure and clean.

Technical Information

Stepping on to the stage, looking up, you will see our fully integrated rigging system with more than 20 separate line sets. There is a total of 50' to the grid. You will also notice our spotless full sized cyclorama hanging on the last drop bar alongside our black back traveler. We also offer a mid and front traveler.

Three full sized lighting bars, six separate side arms, and a full walkout catwalk make lighting in this theater complete, easy, and stunning. We have a completed repertory light plot for easy use during all performances, including the Districts 15 Performing Arts productions a year. These performances include our Choral Department, Instrumental Department, as well as performances by our Dance and Theater Company all managed by our Technical Theater Department, all of which is student driven.

Backstage

Behind the back wall to the theater our students have access to two full-sized dressing rooms as well as a scene shop all completed with a bay door and two 10' double-doors that lead onto the stage itself.

Other Accommodations

We have a total of three lobbies. The first floor lobby includes a box office booth and concession booth. All of our lobbies, accessible with an elevator, proudly display the accomplishments of our Performing and Fine Arts departments including visual art, photography and media. The theater becomes a true place to house the art of students and beyond.
