Shortie Student Video Awards 2010
The Channel 30 Morning News Crew from the South Lawrence East Middle School participated for the first time this year in the Shortie Student Video Awards. This competition receives entries from around the country and around the world. The Channel 30 News entry for Live Middle School News received 2nd place finalist recognition and the honor of having their video posted on the Shortie.org winners website. A Day Made Better - Office Max Supplies Scholarship
On October 5, 2010, She was one of 1000 teachers honored on "A DAY MADE BETTER" from Office Max. Her class received $1,000.00 in new supplies. |
South Lawrence East Educational Complex - READ 180 class shoots for 2 million
On February 9, 2010, after reaching their initial goal of 1 Million words read, Chris Ienello's Grade 7 Read 180 Reading class agreed to reset their reading goal to 2 Million words read! As they start the 3rd Term, the class is pushing through 1.4 Million words, having read 126 books! |
Arlington Elementary School- Lexington Symphony

South Lawrence East Educational Complex - Hands on History
5th grade students at the South Lawrence East Educational Complex got a close up look at 18th century life and a history lesson about the Revolutionary War.
During the month of October, Denis Cormier brought his "Hands on History" presentation to every 5th grade class in the district to bring history alive for the students. They were able to wear clothing in Revolutionary War style, touch lamps, drinking cups, pens, documents and other items they had only seen before in their history books. |
